Spa pools are typically modern, electrically heated units with moulded seats, jets for hydrotherapy, advanced lighting, and filtration systems, making them ideal for everyday use and massage therapy. Hot tubs, on the other hand, are traditionally wooden or plastic, often round, may be heated by wood fire, gas, or electricity, and lack the jets and sculpted seating found in spa pools.

It is generally more efficient to leave it running and maintaining temperature than to reheat it from cold every time, unless you are going away for weeks.
